We Give Back

Like many businesses in New Mexico, Jackalope was closed for 2 ½ months in 2020. When we reopened, we didn’t know what to expect and how business would fare. But as we reopened, Ownership, Management and Employees alike felt that Jackalope had to commence a meaningful give back program to our community. The early days of the pandemic were more than disruptive and we were galvanized and committed to give back.
Our premise has been to tie donations with our own performance. The better Jackalope does, the more we can and will give back to community partners. And frankly, we got lucky. The demand for home and garden merchandise has been as strong as any period in recent history. Since April, 2020, Jackalope has given more than $50,000 to local and herculean organizations.
The support and patronage we receive from our customers cannot be understated. Jackalope is 45 years strong in New Mexico and this is because of our loyal customer base.
We sponsored two sales promotions with Roadrunner Food Bank and plan to launch another promotion for the 2021 Winter Holiday Season. We have already donated $20,000 and we hope to do at least this much in the next 12-18 months.
When SWAIA, the world renown Native American arts market had to go virtual in August, 2020, we raised $10,000 by donating 10% of sales.
In the Spring of 2021, with a focus on saving critical and highly threatened native species of pollinators, we paired up with the New Mexico BioPark Society. We ran a three month promotion and donated $25,000 to the BioPark in Sept. 2021.
Jackalope will continue to partner with key and critical not-for-profits in our community. While our major partnerships are targeted, we consider and evaluate donation requests from small community 501(c)(3) organizations. Requests must be from non-political and non-religious organizations. We focus on organizations that benefit children, education, the arts, the environment, health and elder care, homelessness and veterans.
